238 Irish children referred to GIDS at Tavistock but a smaller number referred back to Children's Health Ireland at Crumlin of which "40% receive medical treatment such as puberty blockers."

Former Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan has again called for an investigation.

(A smaller number means: less were seen than referred - this chart only covers period up to early 2023:)

Response from the Gender Identity Development Service at the Tavistock released under Freedom of Information, February 2023

Yesterday the Department of Health and Social Care in the UK announced the

"Sale and supply of puberty blockers via private prescriptions for the treatment of gender incongruence and/or gender dysphoria to be banned indefinitely in UK for under 18s"

The HSE has failed to respond to the Cass report to date and concerned doctors have had no response from HIQA to their complaint.

Dr Paul Moran speaking on Newstalk Breakfast this morning says the HSE appointed lay activists to senior positions in policy development: https://link.goloudplayer.com/s/pGyoGzimjQje

Problems with the service at the Gender Identity Development Service were known about even before the first Irish child was ever referred there. https://bbc.com/news/uk-54374165

From 2020:

"A number of doctors have claimed a service under which adolescents with gender dysphoria can be given puberty-suppressing hormone blockers is 'unsafe' and must be immediately stopped, but their concerns were suppressed."
HSE doubles down instead of querying its treatment of Irish children
With an urgent enquiry announced into gender treatment of children in the UK The Sunday Independent has revealed that the HSE is looking into sending Irish children to “similar services” elsewhere. Should Minister Stephen Donnelly now seek answers as to how Irish children are being treated?
"The children’s hospital in Crumlin, Dublin, was given a 'comfort  letter' saying it was still indemnified for the continued administration of puberty blockers to patients with gender dysphoria, following a landmark judgment by an English court." (reported in The Irish Times 2021)
